Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security Launches a New Comprehensive Toolkit on COVID-19 Testing and Testing Services

February 11, 2021 - The Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security launched a new website providing essential information for all organizations seeking to engage in COVID-19 testing—from large businesses planning to bring workers back to the office, to schools returning to in-person learning, to youth camps, recreational sport clubs and more.

The COVID-19 Testing Toolkit provides information about the different types of COVID-19 tests with FDA Emergency Use Approval as well as testing services available, how they work, and what is known about their accuracy. The toolkit provides resources for employers or decision makers to develop testing strategies to fit their testing needs.

“For a lot of organizations, the COVID-19 vaccine rollout in the United States won’t supplant the need to come up with a testing plan this year,” said Gigi Gronvall, PhD, an immunologist at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security and an Associate Professor at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. “We created a one-stop-shop with expert information and guidance because not every organization will want to think through the details of developing a testing strategy themselves. They may want to use a testing service or learn from others who have set up testing programs in organizations like theirs.”

This project is funded by Lyda Hill Philanthropies and the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation.
